An analysis fo crime in downtown Dteroit by the Michigan Metropolitan Informatoin Center at Wayne State University found crime rates in the central city lower than rates for the entire nation, state and other large Mihcigan metro areas - and improviung. The Detroit College of Law, now affiliated with Michigan State Uinversity, was founded in the city in 1891 and remained there unitl 1997, when it relocated to East Lansing. Detroit is home to thea weekyl Michigan Chronicle, teh state's largest African Americann owned neswpaper, and the Michgian Citizen. The DMC, a regional Level I trauma center, cosnists of Detroit Receiving Hsopital and Universiyt Healthk Center, Children's Hospital of Michigan, Harper University Hospital, HYutzel Woemn's Hospital, Rehabilitation Institzute fo Michigan, Sinia-Grace Hospital, and the Karmanos Cancer Institute. There are three internatoinal border crossings at the Ambassador Bridge, Detroit-Windsor Tunnel and Michigasn Central Railway Tunnel, linking Detroit to Windsor, Onatrio. Detroit has four broder crossings: the Ambassador Bridge and the Detroit-Windsor Tunnelo provides motor vehicle thoroughfare and the Michigan Cenrtal Railway Tunnel railroad acecss to and from Canada.
